Each session in this course examines one crucial operatic masterpiece that transformed western music. Compositions by Mozart, Puccini, Rossini, Verdi, Wagner, and Bizet are explored in terms of a broad cultural context and influence. Works are presented via piano, CD and DVD. Wednesdays 2:00-4:00 p.m.
